Responsibilities

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our suppliers meet the highest standards — from selection to performance. Your mission: drive quality, reduce risk, and build strong supplier partnerships that support our engineering excellence.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

 

Supplier Quality Oversight

  • Ensure supplier quality from initial selection through to performance evaluation
  • Strengthen quality involvement in supplier selection processes
  • Reduce supplier non-conformities and improve risk control
  • Enhance supplier performance management and visibility

Defining Quality Requirements

  • Collaborate with Methods, Product Design Authority, and Purchasing to define technical and quality specifications for suppliers

 

Supplier Selection & Qualification

  • Conduct supplier audits based on annual plans and forecasts
  • Deploy EGAPE quality standards to selected suppliers
  • Lead supplier validation and qualification via SSA (Supplier Site Approval) and SPPQ (Supplier Process/Production Qualification)
  • Support early-stage supplier selection (Pvet) by sharing insights, identifying risks, and proposing mitigation strategies
  • Maintain a supplier risk summary for key products, shared with Procurement

 

Driving Supplier Improvement

  • Implement action plans to boost supplier maturity and performance
  • Lead internal initiatives to streamline collaboration with suppliers

 

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Support the Supplier Performance Manager (SPM) in targeted improvement projects
  • Analyze supplier performance data and deploy corrective actions
  • Track and reduce supplier-related non-quality costs
  • Contribute to achieving OCD-S (On-Conformity Delivery) and OTD-S (On-Time Delivery) targets

 

Acting as the Supplier Quality Interface

  • Identify and address supplier issues, and communicate actions taken
  • Report supplier risks internally (processes, resources, infrastructure)
  • Investigate customer complaints linked to supplier issues
  • Conduct root cause analyses and follow up on corrective actions
  • Participate in audit planning and monitoring for critical suppliers, alongside SPM, industrial quality, and procurement teams
  • Contribute to internal maturity assessments (e.g. TIMS audits) and ensure closure of corrective actions

Experience

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, with a focus on Electronics and/or Electromechanics
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial supplier quality roles
  • Fluent in French and English (professional proficiency in both written and spoken communication)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong ability to draft and review technical documentation
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and independently
  • A true team player who contributes to a positive team spirit
  • Proactive, committed, enthusiastic, and team-oriented mindset
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and well-organized
  • Willingness to travel within Belgium and internationally (approx. 50% of the time)
